LYNCHBURG, VA – Freshman Kristina Darby (Tampa, FL/Holy Names) posted 19 points, seven rebounds and five steals Tuesday evening as Lynchburg College defeated Randolph-Macon Woman’s College 81-63 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) game.

The Hornets scored the first 10 points of the contest, but the WildCats clawed back to cut the lead to just one at 16-15 midway through the half. LC ended the half with a 26-10 run to enter intermission ahead 42-25 and led by double figures the rest of the way.

Darby hit seven of her 12 attempts from the field and made two three-pointers. Senior center Caroline Wesley (Baltimore, MD/Notre Dame) tallied 13 points and 12 rebounds and Brittany Dahn (Glen Allen, VA/Deep Run) had 11 points and five caroms. Amy Terry (Dublin, VA/Pulaski County) had nine points and six rebounds and Dana Esposito (New Port Richie, FL/Holy Names) added eight points.

Freshman Katie Rechnitzer scored 19 points for R-MWC (0-7/0-4 ODAC) and Sara Rechnitzer added 18 points.

The Hornets (2-3/2-1 ODAC) are off until the end of the month, competing at the ‘O’ Classic at Otterbein University December 29-30.
