Kim Vaughan and Lauren Askey Named All-South Region

LYNCHBURG, VA – Senior Kim Vaughan (Baltimore, MD/Parkville) and junior Lauren Askey (Baltimore, MD/Loch Raven) each recently earned National Soccer Coaches Association All-South Region honors.

Vaughan, a midfielder, earned first-team all-region honors for the fourth-straight season. She was named to the All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) first-team squad for the fourth time last month and is a two-time All-America. Vaughan scored four goals this year - including a pair of game-winners.

Askey, a defender, received second-team All-Region accolades, after earning first-team all-conference honors. She was named the ODAC’s Women’s Soccer Scholar Athlete of the Year and posted two goals and an assist.

The Hornets finished the season 10-6-3 and 6-4-1 in league play.
