For immediate release – 12/2/2006 - #133 Hornet Indoor Track Opens 2006-07 Season at Liberty
LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College indoor track & field team opened its 2006-07 season Saturday across town at Liberty University.
Sophomore Earl Graves (Richmond, VA/Heritage) ran a 51.48 in the 400-meters while Xavier Sayles (Richmond, VA/Manchester) and McKinley Johnson (Lynchburg, VA/Amherst County) ran a 7.15 and a 7.16 respectively in the 60-meter dash. Ryan Holmes (Glen Allen, VA/J.R. Tucker) leaped 6.65 meters in the long jump and Justin Hazelrigg (Bedford, VA/Liberty) threw 11.82 meters in the shot put.
Senior Sarah Funderburke (Fredericksburg, VA/Courtland) ran a 60.81 in the 400-meter dash for the Hornet women, and Mary Mohay (Fairfax, VA/Robinson) cleared 3.15 meters in the pole vault.
The Hornets are off until after the New Year.
