Guilford Outscores LC Men’s Basketball 102-80

GREENSBORO, NC – The Guilford College men’s basketball team remained undefeated Saturday with a 102-80 win over visiting Lynchburg College in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) contest.

The Quakers led 46-41 at halftime, but opened the second half with a 20-3 run and led by double figures the rest of the way. GC shot 65.7 percent (23-35) from the floor after intermission.

Freshman forward Danny Reed (Adamstown, MD/Tuscarora) netted a game-high 22 points for Lynchburg, sinking four of his five three pointers. Junior guard Evan Fancourt (Greensboro, NC/Grimsley) finished with 15 points while Jack Burgess (Durham, NC/Cardinal Gibbons) had eight points and six assists and Drew Norris (Richmond, VA/Steward School) had eight points.

Ben Strong tallied game-highs of 24 points and 11 rebounds for Guilford (4-0/1-0 ODAC). George Neville had 22 points and 11 caroms and Jordan Snipes added 13 points.

The Hornets (1-4/0-1 ODAC) host Randolph-Macon College Wednesday at 7 p.m.
