Six Lynchburg Players Earn All-ODAC Men’s Soccer Honors
Three on first Team – Chris Yeager Named Coach of the Year

SALEM, VA – The Lynchburg College men’s soccer team had seven individuals honored Wednesday with the release of the 2006 All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) team. Three Hornets were named to the first team and Chris Yeager earned Coach of the Year honors.

Senior Drew Jamison (New Castle, DE/Salesianum) and juniors Maurwyn Bowen (Gaithersburg, MD/Seneca Valley) and Modou Jobarteh (Silver Spring, MD/John F. Kennedy) each earned first-team honors. Jamison, a defender, was the cornerstone of a defense that allowed just 15 goals in 21 matches. He also was an All-ODAC first-team selection in 2005. Bowen, a forward, led the team with eight goals (including three game winners) and three assists. Jobarteh, a midfielder, had five goals and two assists on the season, and netted two game-winning scores.

Pat Brown (Williamsburg, VA/Christchurch) and Marcus Jordan (Lynchburg, VA/Germantown) received second-team accolades, while Casey Zambor (Jackson, NJ/Monsignor Donovan) earned an honorable mention. Brown, a freshman defender, helped limit opponents to just 74 shots on goal, less than half the Lynchburg team total for the season. Jordan, a junior goalie, posted a goal-against average of 0.52 and had nine shutouts. Zambor, a senior midfielder, was the fourth-leading scorer on the team with four goals and two assists.

Coach Yeager led LC to a 14-5-2 overall record and the ODAC Title. The Hornets advanced into the NCAA Division III Tournament for the first time since the 1982 season.
