Student Checklist
In the event of an emergency requiring college closure, students should be aware of the information below.
Dear Student:
Due to an emergency situation that could impact the health and safety of the residents, the College has made the decision to close for the semester, effective immediately. Students will therefore depart campus within the next twenty-four to forty-eight hours. Resident Assistants will be discussing immediately details of closing procedures. In preparing for departure, the Office of Residence Life recommends that students should pack the following items as time is allotted:
If students’ departure is immediate:
- Important/emergency documents (driver's license, birth certificate, passport, green card, insurance card, State ID, marriage certificate)
- Financial resources (cash, credit cards, bank information, travelers cheques)
- Emergency medication/prescription (ex. if you are diabetic)
- Cell phone and address book
- Bare minimum of clothing
- Bare minimum of personal hygiene items (soap, toothbrush/toothpaste)
If students’ departure is within a few hours (include the above items):
- Water
- Non-perishable foods/snacks
- All forms of medication (prescription and non prescription)
- All forms of necessary hygiene products (soap, lotion, oils, shampoo/conditioner)
- Contact information of friends (in case you are displaced)
If students’ departure is more than six hours away (include the above items):
- Personal computer
