Kim Vaughan and Lauren Askey Named First-Team All-ODAC
Askey Earns ODAC Women’s Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award

SALEM, VA – Five Lynchburg College student-athletes were named to the 2006 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) all-conference women's soccer squad Tuesday, including two on the first-team.

Senior midfielder Kim Vaughan (Baltimore, MD/Parkville) and junior defender Lauren Askey (Baltimore, MD/Loch Raven) each took home first-team accolades, and Askey was named the ODAC’s Women’s Soccer Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Askey earned first-team honors for the third-straight season and posted two goals and an assist while boasting a 3.96 grade point average with a major in athletic training. Vaughan, a four-time first-team All-ODAC selection and two-time All-American, scored four goals this year - including a pair of game-winners.

Junior forward Audrea Hamby (Lutherville, MD/Towson) and junior midfielder Siobhan Budine (Sherburne, NY/Sherburne-Earlville) were named to the second-team. Hamby led the squad with nine goals and 20 points, while Budine was second on the team with four assists. Senior defender Kelly Vornadore (Springfield, VA/Bishop Ireton) was an all-conference honorable mention.

The Hornets finished the season 10-6-3 and 6-4-1 in league play.
