Senior ForwardThe Book on Garcia: Runs the floor well for a post player . . . possesses good offensive skills that allow her to play on the perimeter . . . has quickness to defend well in the post . . . will look to play more physical this season . . . should challenge for solid minutes up front for LC.
Junior (2008-09): Appeared in all but one game last season for LC, getting the starting assignment at Bridgewater on 2/17 . . . had two seven game outings, with the first coming at Randolph-Macon on 12/1 and the second coming later in a lost at Roanoke College . . . had six points, three assists and two boards in a win at Hollins.
Sophomore (2007-08): Played in all 26 games her sophomore campaign, getting one start against Bridgewater . . . averaged two points and 2.9 rebounds per contest . . . tied for third on the team with six blocks on the season . . . had seven points and seven boards against ODAC foe Hollins on 2/16/08 . . . Academic All-ODAC.
Freshman (2006-07): Played in 18 games with one start . . . scored 40 points and grabbed 32 rebounds in 142 minutes . . . had her best game in her only start, scoring nine points and grabbing eight caroms against VWC.
Before LC: Was a three-year varsity letter winner for the Screaming Eagles of Seneca Valley HS and head coach Randy Berger . . . two-year starter for SVHS.
Personal: Parents Greg and Laurie Garcia . . . biology major . . . has one brother . . . is a chemistry pass leader at LC . . . part of the Westover Honors Program.
