Bridgewater Eliminates Lynchburg Volleyball in Three
Dara Sandifer Finishes with School-Record 1,126 Assists

BRIDGEWATER, VA – The third-seeded Bridgewater College volleyball team defeated Lynchburg College 30-19, 30-24, 30-20 Tuesday in the first round of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament. The loss finishes the Hornets’ 2006 season with a 17-13 record and ends LC’s eight-match winning streak.

Junior setter Dara Sandifer (Monroe, VA/Holy Cross) had 31 assists, giving her a school-record 1,126 for the season - surpassing Jennifer Angus’ 16-year old former record. Katie Warlick (Stafford, VA/Colonial Forge) had 12 kills and 18 digs, Amanda Walsh (Forest, VA/Heritage) had nine kills while Chelsea Jones (Richmond, VA/Monacan) posted seven kills and eight digs. Ashley Martin (Charlottesville, VA/Western Albemarle) finished with 16 digs.
