For immediate release – 10/28/2006 - #097 Hornet Men’s XC Places Third at ODACs; Women Fourth BRIDGEWATER, VA – The Lynchburg College cross country team competed Saturday at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships, with the men placing third and the women finishing fourth. Washington & Lee University won both team titles. Sophomore Jeremy Falke (Ashland, VA/Patrick Henry) finished the 8K men’s run in 28:18 to take second-place overall and earn first-team all-ODAC honors. Matt Carlton (Richmond, VA/Freeman) was 17th in 30:13 and Pat Jacobs (Bloomingdale, NJ/Butler) took 19th in 30:40. Kevin Peggs (Richmond, VA/Monacan) finished 20th in 30:40 while Ryan Call (Midlothian, VA/Midlothian) was 22nd in 30:50. Senior Ashley Armistead (Forest, VA/Jefferson Forest) earned second-team all-ODAC honors for the Hornet women, placing ninth in 26:50 on the 6K course. Shelby O’Rourke (Bay Shore, NY/West Islip) was 21st in 27:54, Megan Donnelly (McLean, VA/McLean) finished 22nd in 27:58, Amanda Diver (Boxford, MA/Masconomet) took 27th in 28:43 and C.C. Capranica (St. Michaels, MD/Easton) placed 29th in 28:53. The Hornets will compete in the NCAA Regional meet on Nov. 11 at Emory University (GA). ### |
