LC Field Hockey Defeats Roanoke 7-1

SALEM, VA – Junior Samantha Howard (Fairfax Station, VA/W.T. Woodson) and freshman Allie Weir (Richmond, VA/James River) each posted two goals and an assist Tuesday as the Lynchburg College field hockey team defeated Roanoke College 7-1 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match.

Howard, Erin Majerowicz (Pasdadena, MD/Chesapeake) and Laura Christianson (Virginia Beach, VA/Tallwood) each scored once before half as LC led 3-0 at intermission. Christianson and Morgan Crandall (Belfast, ME/Belfast) had a goal and an assist apiece.

Lynchburg out shot Roanoke (2-10/1-3 ODAC) 28-8 and held a 15-7 edge in penalty corners.

The Hornets (11-2/7-0 ODAC) host the University of Mary Washington Thursday at 4 p.m. on Fox Field.
