Lynchburg Men’s Soccer Defeats Randolph-Macon 4-2

AMHERST, VA – Maurwyn Bowen (Gaithersburg, MD) scored two goals to lead the Lynchburg College men’s soccer team to a 4-2 victory over Randolph-Macon College Sunday in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action.

Bowen scored the opening goal for Lynchburg at 1:29 into the game off a pass from Modou Jobarteh (Silver Spring, MD). Jobarteh fed the ball to Bowen for another goal in the 56th minute. Casey Zambor (Jackson, NJ) and Matt Lombardo (Virginia Beach, VA) each tacked on a goal for Lynchburg, and Stephen Brooks (Vienna, VA) added an assist for the Hornets.

Chris Williams and Thomas Eacho each scored a goal for Randolph-Macon (3-9/1-4 ODAC), and Colin Royster recorded eight saves. Lynchburg out shot Randolph-Macon 22-8 and held a 7-4 edge in corner kicks.

Lynchburg (6-4-2/2-1-2 ODAC) hosts the Hampden-Sydney Tigers on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Amherst High School.
