Kim Vaughan Scores Twice as LC Defeats Greensboro 2-0

LYNCHBURG, VA – Senior midfielder Kim Vaughan (Baltimore, MD/Parkville) scored the game’s only two goals as the Lynchburg College women’s soccer team defeating visiting Greensboro College 2-0 Sunday.

Vaughan scored eight minutes into the game on a cross from senior Siobhan Budine (Sherburne, NY/Sherburne-Earlville), and scored again at 26:20 from Sara Butsavage (Virginia Beach, VA/First Colonial).

Lynchburg out shot Greensboro 19-2 and held an 8-0 edge in corner kicks. Ashley-Taylor Fuller (Mt. Holly, NJ/Rancocas Valley Regional) made two saves for LC to preserve the shutout. Shana Saganich and Kristen McGuire combined to make eight saves for Greensboro (2-7-1).

The Hornets (7-3-1) host Emory & Henry College Wednesday at 4 p.m. on the Faculty Drive Fields.
