Lynchburg Men’s Soccer Battles Virginia Wesleyan to a Double Overtime 0-0 Draw

LYNCHBURG, VA – Marcus Jordan (Lynchburg, VA) made nine saves for the Lynchburg College men’s soccer team Saturday in a double overtime 0-0 tie against Virginia Wesleyan College on Saturday in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) clash.

Virginia Wesleyan out shot the Hornets 19-14, and also held a 9-7 edge in shots on goals. Brian Cocchiola (Midlothian, VA) and Joey Jewell (Fairfax Station, VA) each took three shots along with two shots on goal for Lynchburg. Brandon Massie fired five shots with three shots on goals for the Marlins while Ryan Cassell attempted four shots. Kyle Williams made seven stops for VWC.

Lynchburg committed 20 fouls while the Marlins committed 17 fouls. Virginia Wesleyan enjoyed a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.

Lynchburg (5-3-2/1-1-2 ODAC) hosts Methodist College Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Amherst High School.
