Hornet Volleyball Splits Pair at Randolph-Macon
ASHLAND, VA – The Lynchburg College volleyball team split a pair of matches Saturday at Randolph-Macon College.
Lynchburg defeated Randolph-Macon 30-27, 30-26, 24-30, 20-30, 19-17 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match. Carrington Cardwell (Gladys, VA/Rustburg) had a team-best 17 kills, Amanda Walsh (Forest, VA/Heritage) had 16 kills while Chelsea Jones (Richmond, VA/Monacan) had 11 kills and 13 digs. Dara Sandifer (Monroe, VA/Holy Cross) tallied 48 assists and 23 digs and Ashley Martin (Charlottesville, VA/Western Albemarle) added 25 digs.
Averett University upended Lynchburg 27-30, 35-37, 31-29, 30-16, 15-9 in non-conference play. Walsh had 16 kills and Cardwell, Jones and Katie Warlick (Stafford, VA/Colonial Forge) each had 11 kills. Warlick added 19 digs, Martin had 29 digs and Sandifer compiled 52 assists and 10 digs.
The Hornets (7-10/3-3 ODAC) hosts Washington & Lee University Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
