Rich in the tradition of superior scholarship, leadership, and community service, the College celebrates more than one hundred years of developing well-rounded graduates who serve as active participants in the global society. Therefore, Lynchburg College proudly presents its seventh annual Scholarship Competition to recognize the achievements of those students who excel in the Lynchburg College traditions of scholarship, leadership, and community service.

The Scholarships

$1,000, $2,500, and $5,000 awards
($4,000, $10,000, and $20,000, four-year totals respectively)

The Guidelines

  • Only students who have been admitted to the College are eligible to compete, so complete your admissions application soon!
  • Admission and Competition applications must be submitted by February 29, 2008 to Lynchburg College, Office of Enrollment Services, 1501 Lakeside Drive, Lynchburg, VA  24501.
  • Applications must be endorsed by a teacher, guidance counselor, or community leader, and students are encouraged to submit an example of achievement from their junior or senior year.
  • Select students will be invited to compete in the on-campus competition, which will include an interview with a faculty member and a timed essay.
  • Three competition dates are scheduled to be held in March.  Once invited to compete, you may indicate which of the on-campus event days you prefer to attend. Space in the competitions is limited, so a prompt reply to the invitation is encouraged.
