LC Field Hockey Rallies for 2-1 Win at Randolph-Macon

ASHLAND, VA – Senior attack Laura Christianson (Virginia Beach, VA/Tallwood) scored on her own rebound midway through the second half to give the Lynchburg College field hockey team a 2-1 win Tuesday at Randolph-Macon College.

Lindsay Walker scored at the 20-minute mark of the first half and the Yellow Jackets held the 1-0 lead into intermission. Freshman Allie Weir (Richmond, VA/James River) tied the score with an unassisted goal with 18 minutes left on the game clock, and Christian netted the game winner at 55:28.

Lynchburg (8-2/4-0 ODAC) out shot Randolph-Macon 13-9 while both teams were awarded seven penalty corners. Senior Elizabeth Foskey (Williamsburg, VA/Jamestown) made four saves for LC while Ashley Crouch made six stops for the Yellow Jackets (2-6/2-3 ODAC).

The Hornets travel to Virginia Wesleyan College Saturday for an ODAC contest at 2 p.m.
