Lynchburg Earns Two ODAC Athletes of the Week

SALEM, VA – Two Lynchburg College student-athletes were named Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Players of the Week for the week of September 18.

Sophomore Ricky Flynn (Gaithersburg, MD/Damascus) earned the ODAC Men’s Cross Country award. Flynn won the individual men's title at the 35-school New York University Invitational on Saturday in Van Courtland Park. Flynn bested almost 300 other runners en route to the winning the title, finishing the five-mile course in 26:31.

Junior midfielder Jessi Bowman (Midlothian, VA/Clover Hill) was named the conference’s Field Hockey Player of the Week. She scored in overtime Sunday as the Hornets defeated St. Mary's College 1-0 and broke the Seahawks four-match winning streak. Bowman also added a tally in LC's 6-2 win at Eastern Mennonite on Friday.
