#9 Emory Defeats LC Men’s Soccer 1-0

AMHERST, VA - Alex Diego scored the game’s only goal on an assist from Chad Chambers at 23:25 of the first half as the ninth-ranked Emory University men’s soccer team defeated Lynchburg College 1-0 Sunday.

Emory out shot LC 15-8 and held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks. Marcus Jordan (Lynchburg, VA/Germantown) made eight saves for LC, and Keith Meehan made three stops for the Eagles (5-0) to preserve the shutout..

The Hornets (5-2) host Roanoke College next Saturday as part of Parents and Family Weekend. Lynchburg and RC will square off at 3 p.m. on the Faculty Drive Fields in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference game.
