Lynchburg Volleyball Sweeps Salem

LYNCHBURG, VA – Behind eight service aces from junior Carrington Cardwell (Gladys, VA/Rustburg), the Lynchburg College volleyball team defeated Salem College (NC) 30-8, 30-22, 30-13 in non-conference action Saturday.

Carrington tied a school record for aces in a match, and added eight kills. Chelsea Jones (Richmond, VA/Monacan) had nine kills, Katie Warlick (Stafford, VA/Colonial Forge) had seven kills and Dara Sandifer (Monroe, VA/Holy Cross) tallied 25 assists. Jessie Bridge (Stuarts Draft, VA/Stuarts Draft) and Amanda Walsh (Forest, VA/Heritage) each had five kills and Kate Bauer (Falls Church, VA/Bishop O’Connell) had six assists.

Lynchburg (4-7) hosts Randolph-Macon Woman’s College Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match.
