Hornet Volleyball Drops Two at Greensboro Tournament
Sandifer Named to All-Tourney Team
GREENSBORO, NC – The Lynchburg College volleyball team dropped a pair of four-game matches Saturday on the final day of play at the Greensboro College Tournament. Junior setter Dara Sandifer (Monroe, VA/Holy Cross) was named to the All-Tournament Team and LC went 2-2 over the weekend.
Piedmont College upended LC 30-27, 30-22, 23-30, 30-26 in the first match of the day. Sandifer had 50 assists, Katie Warlick (Stafford, VA/Colonial Forge) had 10 service points and Carrington Cardwell (Gladys, VA/Rustburg) contributed 17 kills. Amanda Walsh (Forest, VA/Heritage) had 10 kills while Ashley Martin (Charlottesville, VA/Western Albemarle) had 20 digs.
Tournament champion Greensboro defeated LC 30-32, 30-27, 30-25, 30-24 in the nightcap. Warlick posted 18 kills, Sandifer had 51 assists and Chelsea Jones (Richmond, VA/Monacan) had 14 kills and nine digs. Walsh added 12 kills and 18 digs.
Lynchburg (3-5) hosts Bridgewater College Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference match.
