A.J. Tinklepaugh Earns CoSIDA Academic All-American Honors
DELAWARE, OH - Lynchburg College men’s lacrosse player A.J. Tinklepaugh (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) was recently named a 2006 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American in the college at-large division, as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Tinklepaugh, a senior attack, was an honorable mention to the Division III All-American team and was also named a STX/USILA Scholar All-American. He led the team this year with 31 goals and was second with 47 points. Tinklepaugh was also named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year and was named the all-conference and all-state first-team squads.
The ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® teams are selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America. To be considered for the teams, one must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or better and be a starter or important reserve.
