Seven Hornets Honored on All-ODAC Men’s Lacrosse Team

SALEM, VA – Seven Lynchburg College student-athletes were named to the 2006 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) all-conference team Thursday, including four on the first team. Hornet senior A.J. Tinklepaugh (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) was named the ODAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the league’s Sports Information Directors for the second-straight year.

Tinklepaugh, Ryan Cranston (West Chester, PA/Henderson), Brian Kemper (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air) and Chad Clark (Fairfax, VA/W.T. Woodson) all were named to the first-team.

Tinklepaugh, an attack, is tied for the team lead with 45 points in 2006, with 31 and 17 assists. In the classroom, Tinklepaugh fashions a 3.78 GPA while majoring in biomedical science at Lynchburg.

Cranston, a sophomore attack, also is tied for the team lead with 45 points, and ranks second with 17 assists. Kemper, a senior attack, has posted 17 goals this season, including five game-winners, and six assists. Clark, a senior, has anchored the LC defense this year and is third on the team with 50 ground balls.

Senior midfielder Ryan Quick (Charlottesville, VA/Albemarle) earned second-team honors after posting 22 goals and 11 assists. Junior defender Brandon Fell (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) and sophomore goalie Garrett Curran (Hull, MA/Tabor Academy) each received an honorable mention to the all-conference team.
