Five Hornets Honored on All-ODAC Women’s Lax Team

SALEM, VA – Five Lynchburg College student-athletes were honored Monday with the release of the 2006 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Women’s Lacrosse all-conference team.

Two Hornets were selected to the second-team, senior midfielder Allison Vezzetti (Bel Air, MD/C. Milton Wright) and junior defender Nichole Johnson (Pasadena, MD/Northeast). Vezzetti started all 13 games and led the team with 12 caused turnovers and was third with 24 ground balls. She also added five goals and six assists. Johnson, who anchored the Hornet defense, scooped 24 ground balls and caused five turnovers.

Nichole Locher (Yorktown Heights, VA/Yorktown), Sarah Rahl (Kennebunk, ME/Kennebunk) and Ji-Young Eun (Fairfax, VA/W.T. Woodson) all received honorable mention accolades. Locher, a sophomore attack, paced the offense with 21 assists and 39 points. Rahl, a junior midfielder, scored 19 goals with seven assists and added 29 draw controls. Eun, a junior goalie, played all 786 minutes in net for LC and made 156 saves.
