Hornet Men’s Lax Rolls to 18-4 Win over Marymount

LYNCHBURG, VA – The fifth-ranked Lynchburg College men’s lacrosse team opened a nine-goal halftime lead and breezed to an 18-4 win Saturday over Marymount University.

Lynchburg scored five times in the first and second quarters to open a 10-1 lead at intermission. Sophomore attack Ryan Cranston (West Chester, PA/Henderson) scored three times and dealt two assists, Tyler Tolson (Lutherville, MD/Loyola Blakefield) scored three goals while A.J. Tinklepaugh (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) had two goals and two assists. Johnny Black (Timonium, MD/St. Paul’s) and Brian Kemper (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air) each had two goals and an assist while Matt Clark (Fairfax, VA/W.T. Woodson), Ryan Quick (Charlottesville, VA/Albemarle), Brian McCulloch (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) and Andrew Tychsen (St. Louis, MO/Christian Brothers) each posted a goal and an assist.

Four players each had single goals for Marymount (5-10), and PJ Keshavarz had two assists. Lynchburg out shot the Saints 62-20 and won 23 of the game’s 26 face-offs.

Lynchburg (11-2) will host a first-round Old Dominion Athletic Conference game Tuesday against Hampden-Sydney College at 4 p.m. on Shellenberger Field. The winner will advance into the conference title game over the weekend.
