#4 Roanoke Defeats #2 LC Men’s Lacrosse 12-7

BOX SCORE

SALEM, VA – The Roanoke College Maroons men’s lacrosse team scored nine of the first ten goals, sporting a 9-1 lead at intermission, as they defeated Lynchburg College 12-7 Saturday afternoon in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.

Matt Duke scored the first two goals for RC, but a tally by Brian Kemper (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air) with 9:52 on the clock in the first quarter cut the lead to one. That was as close as the Hornets would ever be, as the Maroons scored eight unanswered goals over the next quarter and a half to put the game out of reach.

Freshman attack Tyler Tolson (Lutherville, MD/Loyola Blakefield) scored a team-high two goals for LC (10-2/4-1 ODAC), while Ryan Quick (Charlottesville, VA/Albemarle), Johnny Black (Timonium, MD/St. Paul’s), Ryan Cranston (West Chester, PA/Henderson) and Adam Gift (Centreville, VA/Westfield) all netted a goal apiece. Brian McCulloch (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) had two assists for the Hornets.

Duke and Chris Keating both notched a game-high four points apiece, with Zach Thomas and Brendan Moore each scoring twice for the Maroons (11-2/5-0 ODAC).

Lynchburg hosts another ODAC contest Tuesday, taking on Guilford College at 4 p.m.
