For immediate release – 4/19/2006 - #324 Greensboro Women’s Lax Defeats LC 18-12 LYNCHBURG, VA – Karen Hall tallied five goals and four assists Wednesday and the Greensboro College women’s lacrosse team dominated the second half en route to an 18-12 non-conference win over Lynchburg College. The Hornets led 8-7 at intermission and scored two of the first three goals after the break to take a 10-8 lead with 20 minutes left in the contest. The Pride reeled off five-straight goals to take the lead and scored five of the game’s last six tallies to put the contest out of reach. Lynchburg freshman Caitlin Green (White Hall, MD/Hereford) found the back of the net four times, while Nichole Locher (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) posted two goals and two assists. Marissa Wilson (Friendship, MD/Calverton School) scored twice, Sarah Rahl (Kennebunk, ME/Kennebunk) had a goal and three assists and Kelly Vornadore (Springfield, VA/Bishop Ireton) had a goal and an assist. Amanda McGlaughlin scored six times for Greensboro (9-5) and Jenna Gast had five scores and three assists. Kristen McGuire made 13 saves. Lynchburg ends the regular season at 7-5 overall, and will host a first-round Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament game next week, with an opponent, day and time to be determined. ### |
