For immediate release – 4/14/2006 - #314 Caitlin Green Scores Four as LC Lax Defeats Sweet Briar 14-7 SWEET BRIAR, VA – Freshman attack Caitlin Green (White Hall, MD/Hereford) scored four times Friday as the Lynchburg College women’s lacrosse team defeated Sweet Briar College 14-7 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) game. The Hornets scored the first eight goals of the contest, three from Green, and entered halftime with a 9-3 advantage. The Vixens made it interesting by netting the first three goals of the second half, but LC posted five of the last six tallies. Junior attack Kelly Vornadore (Springfield, VA/Bishop Ireton) scored a goal and had three assists while Nichole Locher (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) had a goal and two assists. Marissa Wilson (Friendship, MD/Calverton School), Sarah Rahl (Kennebunk, ME/Kennebunk) and Lindsey Robb (Delanco, NJ/Shawnee) each had two goals and Ji-Young Eun (Fairfax, VA/W.T. Woodson) made 11 saves. Sarah Ross Stewart scored four times for SBC (5-8/2-6) and Julie Sellers added two. The Hornets (7-4/5-3 ODAC) host Greensboro College Wednesday at 4 p.m. ### |
