Washington & Lee Women’s Lacrosse Defeats LC 21-7

LEXINGTON, VA – Amanda Strickler scored twice and dished out a game-high five assists as the Generals of Washington & Lee University defeated the Lynchburg College women’s lacrosse team 21-7 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action from Watt Field Wednesday.

W&L jumped out to a 2-0 lead thanks to two Kate Lester tallies. LC scored on a goal by Nichole Locher (Yorktown Hts., NY/Yorktown) to cut the lead to one, but nine unanswered General goals put the game out of reach for the Hornets.

LC was led by Caitlin Green (Herford, MD/Herford) who notched three goals, while Locher netted two scores and dished out an assist. Marisa Wilson (Friendship, MD/Calverton School) and Kelly Vornadore (Springfield, VA/Bishop Ireton) each had one score apiece, and Allison Vezzetti (Bel Air, MD/C. Milton Wright) had an assist.

W&L’s Kate Lester had a game-high five goals, and Kelsi Robinson and Megan Slossen had four and three goals, respectively.

Lynchburg (6-4/4-3 ODAC) returns to the field on Friday when they travel to Sweet Briar College for a conference match-up at 4 p.m.
