For immediate release – 4/5/2006 - #296 Lynchburg Women’s Lacrosse Rallies to Beat Roanoke 11-8 SALEM, VA – The Lynchburg College women’s lacrosse team erased a two-goal halftime deficit to defeat Roanoke College 11-8 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match Wednesday. The Maroons led 5-3 at the break, but Lynchburg netted the first three goals of the second half, two from senior Cressita Bowman (Dallas, TX/Greenhill), to take a 6-5 advantage. Roanoke tied the game at six, but LC took control with four-straight tallies. Sophomore midfielder Marissa Wilson (Friendship, MD/Calverton School) had three goals and an assist, while Bowman, Nichole Locher (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) and Caitlin Green (White Hall, MD/Hereford) found the back of the net twice. Kaitlyn Johnson (Herndon, VA/Herndon) posted a goal and an assist and Ji-Young Eun (Fairfax, VA/W.T. Woodson) made 11 saves. Kayla Moore scored three times for Roanoke (6-6/2-3 ODAC). Amanda Hutchins posted two goals and an assist while Chelsea Rankin had a goal and two assists. Lynchburg (6-3/4-2 ODAC) travels to Washington & Lee University Wednesday for a conference game at 4 p.m. ### |
