Randolph-Macon Women’s Lacrosse Defeats LC 13-6

LYNCHBURG, VA – Lizzy Spero and Traci Phipps each scored three times Saturday as the Randolph-Macon College (Ashland, VA) women’s lacrosse team defeated Lynchburg 13-6 in an old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) contest.

The Yellow Jackets scored the game’s first three goals, but Lynchburg countered with two tallies midway through the first half. Randolph-Macon scored five of the next six goals to take an 8-3 halftime edge and controlled the ball for much of the second half.

Sophomore Marissa Wilson (Friendship, MD/Calverton School) scored twice for Lynchburg, and Caitlin Green (White Hall, MD/Herford), Lindsey Robb (Delanco, NJ/Shawnee), Cressita Bowman (Dallas, TX/Greenhill) and Nichole Locher (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) each found the back of the net once.

Alex Wright and Liz Lombardo each had two goals and an assist for Randolph-Macon (5-5/4-1 ODAC) and Morgan Sergi posted two goals. Lindsay Schabert made 11 saves for the Yellow Jackets.

The Hornets (5-3/3-2 ODAC) will travel to Roanoke College for another ODAC game Wednesday at 4 p.m.
