Kemper Goal with Five Seconds Remaining Lifts Hornets Over Generals 11-10

Lynchburg, VA – Brian Kemper (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air) scored the game winning goal with five seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to lift the fourth-ranked Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team over visiting Washington & Lee University by a final score of 11-10.

In a back and forth contest that saw nine lead changes and seven ties, the Hornets scored two goals in the final minute of regulation to come away with a victory. Kemper’s game winner was his second goal of the day, and he also notched one assist. Lynchburg was paced by A.J. Tinklepaugh (Annandale, VA/W.T.Woodson) and Johnny Black (Timonium, MD/St. Paul’s) with three goals a piece. Sophomore attack Ryan Cranston (West Chester, PA/Henderson) added a goal and an assist. In net for the Hornets, sophomore Garrett Curran (Hull, MA/Tabor Academy) recorded 12 saves.

Tim Skeen led the way for the Generals with four goals and an assist. Jim Ryan added two goals and one assist. W&L goalie Chris Lalli notched eight saves for the Generals (3-3/0-1 ODAC)

The Hornets travel to Virginia Wesleyan to take on the Marlins in ODAC play next Saturday, April 1. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
