Lynchburg Men’s Lacrosse Defeats Greensboro 11-7

GREENSBORO, NC – The fourth-ranked Lynchburg College lacrosse team defeated the Pride of Greensboro College Wednesday afternoon 11-7 in non-conference action.

The Pride tied the game at seven with 2:12 left in the third quarter on a goal by Matt Perry, but LC responded with four straight goals, including the game winner by Johnny Black (Timonium, MD/St. Paul’s).

Black finished with a team-high three goals, while Ryan Cranston (West Chester, PA/Henderson) and Ryan Quick (Charlottesville, VA/Albemarle) each added two goals apiece. LC keeper Garrett Curran (Hull, MA/Tabor Academy) stopped 10 of the 17 shots he faced in net.

Greensboro (2-5) had seven different goal scorers on the day, while Pride goalie Corey Reina made 12 saves on the afternoon.

The Hornets (6-0) host Old Dominion Athletic Conference foe Washington & Lee University Saturday at 2 p.m. on Shellenberger Field.
