Ryan Quick Records Hat Trick in 15-1 Win Over Messiah
Stingy Hornet Defense Allows One Goal in Victory

Lynchburg, VA – Senior midfielder Ryan Quick (Charlottesville, VA/Albermarle) scored three goals in a 15-1 triumph for the fifth-ranked Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team over visiting Messiah College Falcons on Saturday.

The Hornets took a 9-0 lead into the half, and held Messiah scoreless until the 2:28 mark of the fourth quarter. Senior A.J. Tinklepaugh (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) contributed with two goals and an assist, and sophomores Johnny Black (Timonium, MD/St. Paul’s) and Stephen Weis (St. Louis, MO/Christian Brothers) also found the back of the net twice each. Sophomore Ryan Cranston (West Chester, PA/Henderson) scored one goal and tallied three assists, while junior Brian McCulloch (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) recorded a goal and an assist. Sophomore goalie Garrett Curran (Hull, MA/Tabor Academy) failed to give up a goal in just under 46 minutes of play.

Junior attack Andrew Collins scored the loan goal for the Falcons, who managed 18 shots to the Hornets 44. Ted Oberg and Dustin Jeffries combined to stop 13 shots in the goal for Messiah.

Lynchburg travels south on Wednesday to take on USA South Conference foe Greensboro College. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
