Ryan Cranston Scores Five as #7 LC defeats #14 Dickinson

Lynchburg, VA – Sophomore attack Ryan Cranston (West Chester, PA/Henderson) found the back of the net five times to lead the seventh-ranked Lynchburg College men’s lacrosse team to a 20-13 win over the 14th ranked Dickinson College.

The Hornets took a three goal advantage into halftime, and closed out the third period with three straight tallies to pull away. LC out shot the Red Devils 55 to 26 and beat Dickinson in ground balls as well, 32 to 25.

Senior Ryan Quick (Charlottesville, VA/Albermarle), sophomore Johnny Black (Timonium, MD/St. Paul’s), and freshman Tyler Tolson (Lutherville, MD/Loyola Blakefield) each contributed with a hat trick for the Hornets. Stephen Weis (St. Louis, MO/Christian Brothers) helped out with two goals and an assist, and both A.J. Tinklepaugh (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) and Brian McCulloch (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) contributed with a goal and two assists each.

Dickinson was lead by Brian Read with three goals. Ed Lawless and Ed Boyd both had two goals and an assist for the Red Devils.

The lax team stays home to take on the Villa Julie Mustangs this Wednesday at 3 p.m. in a non-conference match up.
