Lynchburg Women Fall to Oneonta 17-6

BALTIMORE, MD – Kristen O’Leary and Jessica Garabedian each scored six goals as the Oneonta State women’s lacrosse team defeated Lynchburg College 17-6 Sunday in non-conference play.

The Hornets had an early 2-1 lead and the game was tied at three midway through the first half. Six unanswered Oneonta State goals before the half, four by Garabedian (two in the final 12 seconds) put the contest out of reach.

Senior Allison Vezzetti (Bel Air, VA/C. Milton Wright) had two goals and an assist for Lynchburg, while junior Kelly Vornadore (Springfield, VA/Bishop Ireton) found the back of the net twice. Sarah Rahl (Kennebunk, ME/Kennebunk) had a goal and an assist and Lindsey Robb (Delanco, NJ/Shawnee) scored once. Junior goalie Ji-Young Eun (Fairfax, VA/W.T. Woodson) made 19 saves in goal. OSU out shot LC 46-23.

Lynchburg (0-1) hosts Guilford College Friday at 4 p.m. in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match.
