The internship program at Lynchburg College is designed to encourage students to explore career choices and gain practical knowledge and skills to be used in their chosen profession. (See Benefits of an Internship.) Undergraduate students may earn up to 12 credits towards graduation requirements through the internship program, or they may choose to do a non-credit internship for the valuable experience and as a resume-builder.

To plan and implement an internship for academic credit, students should:

  1. Discuss your interests and possibilities with your advisor and a faculty member who will serve as your faculty supervisor;
  2. Make sure you meet the eligibility requirements
  3. Visit the Academic and Career Services Center to research internship opportunities and discuss your plans with one of our professional staff members;
  4. Be sure to remember...
  5. Prepare your resume (using assistance from Academic and Career Services);
  6. Contact the site and arrange an interview (and bring your resume!);
  7. Download (or pick up in the Academic and Career Services Center, 2nd floor Hall Campus Center) the Internship Contracts ;
  8. Complete the contract and return it with all signatures to the Lynchburg College internship coordinator before the deadline each semester or summer term.

  1. Discuss your interests and possibilities with a mentor or academic advisor;
  2. Visit the Academic and Career Services Center to research internship opportunities and discuss your plans with one of our professional staff members;
  3. Prepare your resume (using assistance from Academic and Career services);
  4. Contact the site and arrange an interview (and bring your resume!);
