Our philosophy at LC concerning career development is simple: Start early to Explore how your talents and interests are related to majors and careers, Engage through career development courses, workshops, programs, and internships and this will leave you well-positioned to Embark on your career.
With more than 90 career development programs offered to our students last year and services including powerful networking opportunities through CAREER15 sponsored by the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges, our students have every opportunity to be ready to be successful alumni when they leave us.
More than ever Career Development and the Internship Program offer resources and services in the Academic and Career Services Center located on the second floor of Hall Campus Center which will assist students as they implement their plans. These resources and services are available to all Lynchburg College students and can help students reach their goals of completing their undergraduate or graduate program, obtaining an internship, finding a career or job, or going to graduate school. The mission of Career Development and the Internship Program at Lynchburg College is to offer resources, services, and counseling to assist students in the career planning process; to offer courses and other experiences that provide students with learning opportunities for major and career decision-making and professional school or job search; and to provide opportunities in workplace settings so that students will acquire practical knowledge in a professional discipline, increase the use of workforce communication skills, clarify goals, and enhance professional work habits.
