Shellenberger Field
At heart of the Lynchburg College athletic facilities is Shellenberger Field. Named for the former men's soccer coach, Bill Shellenberger, it is home to the LC men's and women's soccer, men's and women's lacrosse, field hockey and men's and women's track and field teams. The facility features a large natural turf field, a state-of-the-art eight-lane track and a 2,500 capacity for spectators. At one end of the field also stands the Lynchburg Victory Tower.
Turner Gymnasium
Home to the Lynchburg athletic department offices as well as the volleyball and men's and women's basketball teams, Turner Gymnasium recently received a two-million dollar face lift. The gym contains an up-to-date weight room and one of the top exercise physiology labs in the state. The gymnasium can seat approximately 1,500 fans for volleyball and basketball games.
Wake Fieldhouse
One of the most versatile facilities on campus, Wake Fieldhouse is the indoor home to the Lynchburg men's and women's track and field teams. In addition to hosting track meets, the fieldhouse can also be utilized for indoor tennis with three courts available. Wake also serves as an indoor practice facility for many of the LC team sports when inclement weather prevents outdoor practices.
Fox Field
Home of the Lynchburg baseball team, Fox Field is one of the nicest facilities in the ODAC. Cut out of the natural terrain of Lynchburg College, Fox Field is adjacent to Wake Field House. The baseball stadium can accomodate approximately 1,000 fans.
Aubrey R. Moon, Jr. Field
Aubrey Moon Field is the home of the Hornet softball team. The beautifully maintained field welcomes all who enter the college from Lakeside Drive and is bordered by the LC Alumni House and the Burton Student Center. The gently-slopping hillside next to the field can accommodate a number of fans and bleachers can seat approximately 500.
LC Tennis Courts
Another facility to have gone through a major overhaul, the LC Tennis Courts were resurfaced at the conclusion of the Summer of 1999. The six courts, which are adjacent to Fox Field, have a state-of-the art surface designed to maximize edurance while minimizing strain on the athletes in competition.
