Jesse Baumann finished his first season as the head women's cross country coach at Lynchburg College. He joined the track and field coaching staff in the spring of 2006.
He comes to LC from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP), where he was a four-year letter winner for the Pointers. Baumann was a six-time NCAA Division III national meet qualifier and a four-time All-American in the 800 meters, the 1500 meters and Distance Medley Relay. He also earned all-conference honors in both cross country and track, along with being voted both cross country and track team captain, and track team MVP. He graduated from UWSP in the spring 2004, with a degree in watershed management. Baumann will assist mainly with the LC distance runners.
Baumann is a USATF Level 1 Certified Coach.
