LC Men’s Cross Country Finishes Second at Regional Meet, Qualifies for Team Competition at NCAA Championship

The Lynchburg College men’s cross country team finished second at the South/Southeast Regional meet held in Greensboro, NC. With the runner up placement, LC qualified as a team for competition at the NCAA Championship meet next week. Ricky Flynn (Lynchburg, VA/Damascus) outpaced the field by 16 seconds to win the meet.

Ricky Flynn Wins Third ODAC Title, Men’s Cross Country Earns the Championship

The Lynchburg College men’s cross country team won its second consecutive Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) title and the 14th overall. Senior Ricky Flynn (Lynchburg, VA/Damascus) won his third consecutive individual title to further cement himself as one of the great runners in Lynchburg and ODAC history.

Ricky Flynn Places Third in the Blue Ridge Open Gold Meet

Ricky Flynn (Lynchburg, VA/Damascus) placed third in the Gold Meet of the Blue Ridge Open which boasted a field of 16 NCAA Division I teams and two NCAA Division II Teams. Additionally, Ryan Van Alstine (Midland Park, NJ/Midland Park) also ran against mostly Division I competition to win the Blue Ridge Open and pace the Hornet men’s cross country team to a first-place finish.

Ricky Flynn Wins Paul Short Invite as Men’s XC Places 8th

Senior Ricky Flynn (Lynchburg, VA/Damascus) made his 2009 cross country season debut in epic fashion as he won the Brown division of the fabled Paul Short Invitational by five seconds. The team finished eighth, had three runners finish in the top 100, and all seven participants set 2009 season-best times.

Men’s Cross Country Takes Third Place at Maroon Invitational

The men’s cross country team took third place at the Maroon Invitational on the campus of Roanoke College as the race was plagued by rain throughout the duration.
