
Head CoachLynchburg native and former Penn State University assistant Hilliary Scott begins his second season as head coach of the Hornets in 2009-10 .
In his first season at LC, Scott helped coach two players to the All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference team. His team posted a 24-point victory over Drew University and followed it up with the program's first ever victory over Ferrum College. Additionally, the team recorded a big win over Bridgewater College on Senior Day to close out the regular season.
Scott attended local E.C. Glass High School and played his collegiate basketball at nearby Roanoke College. As a Maroon, he was a two-time National Association of Basketball Coaches All-American in 1993 and 1994 and was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Player of the Year in his senior season. Scott graduated from Roanoke in May of 1994 with a degree in religion and philosophy, and was inducted into the RC Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004.
Scott was an assistant coach at Penn State University from 2003-08, helping the Division I Nittany Lion program to double-digit win totals in each of the last three campaigns. He also worked for five seasons as an assistant coach at East Tennessee State (1998-99 season through 2002-03). The Buccaneers won three-straight Southern Conference North Division Titles and an NCAA Tournament berth in 2002-03.
Before entering the coaching ranks, Scott played professional basketball in Europe for two teams. As a member of the Killester Basketball Club (Dublin, Ireland), he played from 1994-96 and averaged over 25 points, seven rebounds and six assists a game. Scott joined the Chester Jets (England) for the 1996-97 season and contributed 15 points and six boards a game.
Assistant CoachAssistant coach Charley Butcher, a Lexington, Kentucky, native, is entering his 14th season in the coaching ranks, and his fourth at Lynchburg College in the 2009-10 season.
Butcher spent four seasons serving as the head varsity coach at Fort Defiance High School in Staunton, VA, before coming to Lynchburg. He earned the honor of being named the Valley District Coach of the Year and the Newsleader Coach of the Year at Fort Defiance. He has also served time as an assistant varsity coach at Lord Botetourt High School, Patrick Henry High School and Roanoke College.
A 1994 graduate of Roanoke College, Butcher spent two years serving as an Admissions Representative for his alma mater before entering the field of education. He now serves as a biology teacher at E.C. Glass high school.
Coach Butcher lives in Forest with his wife Bethany, his daughter Megan, and his son Kyle.

Brett Sullivan begins his secondseason with the Hornets this winter and will take over as the head coach of the JV program.
A 2008 graduate of Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA, Sullivan earned a bachelors degree in finance and served as a student assistant for the Saint Joseph's Hawks men's basketball team from 2005-08. He was a coach at the Kansas University Basketball Camp this summer along with seve ral other camps, was an assistant coach for Saratoga Springs High School in the summer of 2007, and also was a youth basketball coach and referee for the Saratoga Springs Recreation Department. Sullivan will be pursuing his masters of business administration degree at Lynchburg College.
Student AssistantRyan Killiea returns to the sidelines for his second year after playing on the team his freshman year. Ryan will be assisting in everyday activities of the program, ranging from film exchange and breakdown, scouting reports, travel, practice planning, and more.
