ACAP is offered as an academic support service for first year students at the College, in addition to the existing resources of advisors and connection leaders. The design of the program is very simple. A student and an academic coach set up regular meetings, usually weekly, to discuss how the student is adjusting to L.C. It is an opportunity for students to brainstorm about concerns regarding their classes and/or other issues related to their academic progress.
Data indicate that students who participate in ACAP finish their semesters with a higher average QPA than non-participants, as well as a higher retention rate.
