Information regarding SOAR registration, the Schedule Preference Form, and the Housing Preference Form will be provided to students in mid-March or within two weeks of receiving their deposit. 

Friday, May 16: Please complete the following:

  • Register for Student Orientation and Registration (SOAR)
  • Complete the Schedule Preference Form
  • Download and complete the Student Health Form (PDF) before attending SOAR.  You can bring the forms with you to your SOAR session.

Sunday, June 1:

Student Orientation and Registration June Dates

  • Monday and Tuesday, June 23/24: SOAR Session I for freshmen starts at noon!
  • Thursday and Friday, June 26/27: SOAR Session II for freshmen starts at noon!
  • Monday and Tuesday, June 30/July 1: SOAR Session III for freshmen starts at noon!

Tuesday, July 1: Complete Housing Preference Form - Deadline for requesting specific roommate.

Wednesday, August 27 (for students not attending one of the June SOAR sessions)

  • 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. New Student Check-In and Move-In (times are subject to change).
  • 3 - 5 p.m. Student Orientation and Registration for Freshmen who have not attended June SOAR.

Thursday, August 28: Student Orientation and Registration (8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.) for Freshmen (who have not attended one of the June Sessions)

Thursday, August 28: New Student Check-In and Move-In (for students attending one of the June SOAR sessions)

8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. New Student Check-In (Centennial Hall)
Upon arrival, stop by Centennial Hall to receive keys, loft kits, and valuable information needed to begin your journey at LC.  Members of the campus community will be available to help you move into your residence halls.

NOTE: Students trying out for men's and women's soccer, field hockey, and volleyball may be moving into residence halls earlier.  Please contact the Athletic Department for more information.

11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.  Lunch available in dining hall (parents: $6.50)

3:30 - 5 p.m.  Student Employment Job Fair, Memorial Ballroom (for those interested in on-campus employment)

5 - 6:30 p.m.  Dinner available in dining hall (parents: $7.50)

8 - 9 p.m. Connection Group meetings (review your Welcome Week schedule for locations)

9:30 p.m. Drive-In Movie Night, Dell (snow cone machine, popcorn)

Friday, August 29: Welcome Week begins for all freshmen! (All times and locations are subject to change. A complete Welcome Week schedule will be provided to students at check-in).

8 - 9 a.m. Breakfast in the Student Dining Room (optional)

10 a.m. New Student Convocation, Dell (front of Hopwood Hall)

11:30 a.m. Lunch in the Dell

12 - 1 p.m. Parents depart

1:30 - 2:45 p.m. Common Reading Discussion

3 - 4 p.m. Introduction to Honor and Student Conduct Codes

4:10 - 5:10 p.m. Introduction to Community Service

5:15 p.m. Dinner, dining hall

6:15 p.m. LC Night at the Hillcats, City Stadium OR Casino Night, Westover Room (optional)

10 p.m. Welcome Back video/Foam Dance Party, Pavilion (optional)

Saturday, August 30: Welcome Week continues for all new students! (Times and events are subject to change.)

9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Outside the Classroom 101:The Top 10 Things You Need to Know

11:30 - 1:30 p.m. Lunch, dining hall

2 - 4 p.m. Overview of Campus Services and Safe (Internet) Surfing

4:30 - 6:30 p.m. Dinner, dining hall
