About Us Academics Admissions Athletics Giving to the College Graduate Studies Library Student Life

Few schools have been as creative as Lynchburg College in integrating important primary texts into classes across its liberal arts curriculum. With the LCSR volumes, faculty can introduce students to the works that have made such an important contribution to academics, from Plato to Chief Joseph.

Each volume in the series of ten brings together excerpts of important primary texts, edited and presented for use in college courses.  Introductions to selections make them accessible to today's students and to faculty who may want to use them in interdisciplinary exercises. Every volume is organized around a dynamic concept, offering an umbrella for a wide range of pertinent readings.

Reflecting the changing concerns in the world today, the third edition of the ten-volume series updates the selections and their presentation, while retaining the most frequently used selections from the second edition.
