Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy is a two year program past the B.S. degree. People who have physical, emotional, or developmental disabilities are assisted by occupational therapists or therapy assistants who help the patients learn the skills necessary for day-to-day living. They improve or correct conditions through the use of manual crafts and recreational exercises. There are over 100 accredited programs in the U.S. http://www.aota.org/

** Since many programs have different, yet definite prerequisites, it is advised that a student investigate the OT schools of choice and obtain the prerequisites prior to application.
OTHER ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Most programs have an initial screening of applications process. This usually includes:
- Three letters of evaluation (it is suggested that one letter be written by an Occupational Therapist and/or a health care professional).
- 50-100 documented hours of observational or volunteer experience.
- Essay
There is about 1 seat in OT school for every 4 applicants.
ADMISSIONS STANDARDIZED TEST: GRE (combined score of 1000 is preferred)
GPA: 3.0+ is preferred.
