What is the Math Learning Lab?
The Mathematics Learning Laboratory provides services to students enrolled in Introductory Mathematics courses at Lynchburg College. It is staffed by peer tutors who are trained to help students with mathematics. The tutors help students understand course materials, discuss useful study skills and test taking strategies pertaining specifically to Mathematics courses and offer hints to overcome math anxiety. Students may visit the Mathematics Learning Lab during scheduled hours for one-on-one help from a Peer Tutor or they may attend a Peer Assisted Study Session (PASS). The Peer Assisted Study Sessions are scheduled regularly during the week and are dedicated to specific sections of various Mathematics courses. PASS Leader/Tutors conduct these sessions. Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) are intended to supplement the material learned in class - focusing on both content and study skills.
