Structure

The National Student Nurse's Association (NSNA) is the only national organization for nursing students and the largest independent student professional organization in the United States. Flowing from the NSNA are individual states associations and from the state associations, school chapters are formed within that state.

Thus the structure for the Student Nurses' Association at Lynchburg College is as follows:
National Student Nurses' Association (NSNA)
Student Nurse Association of Virginia (SNAV)
Student Nurse Association of Lynchburg College (SNALC)

Membership
Forms for members with yearly dues will be supplied at the beginning of the academic year. NSNA has a twelve-month consecutive membership enrollment system. For example, a student whose form is processed during September will be a member until the following August 31. Renewal notices will be automatically mailed to all underclassmen six weeks before their membership expiration date.

Membership Benefits
Scholarships
Any member is eligible to apply for scholarship monies from NSNA.

IMPRINT
All members receive a year's subscription to Imprint, the only magazine published by nursing students for nursing students. Imprint is published five times a year with one issue devoted to a Career Planning Guide.

Reduced Rates
A Mosby Student Booksaver Program is offered along with reduced rates to several nursing magazines, state board review courses, and NSNA, NLN, and ANA conventions.

State and National Conventions
State conventions are held at rotating sites in Virginia. Members can be nominated for state office and take part in workshops, voting on policies and meeting nursing students from schools in Virginia. The NSNA convention is held annually at a major city and draws nursing students and health care recruiters from every area of the country.
