LYNCHBURG, VA - The No. 10-ranked Lynchburg College field hockey team was rewarded for its fourth consecutive Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) title with a home opening round NCAA Tournament game against Juniata College (PA) Wednesday afternoon at 5 p.m. on Shellenberger Field.

The Hornets (17-4) received the ODAC's automatic bid thanks to a 1-0 victory over Eastern Mennonite University Saturday afternoon. The title was LC's 13th all-time, with Lynchburg reaching the NCAA Tournament for the fifth consecutive year.

Lynchburg is paced by Division III all-time leading goal scorer Alllie Weir (Richmond, VA/James River), who has scored 29 goals to go along with 12 assists. Senior Signey Milks (Gloucester, VA/Gloucester) and junior Jenny Weir (Richmond, VA/James River), both All-ODAC first teamers, will anchor the LC midfield.

No. 18 Juniata College (17-3) knocked off Susquehanna University 1-0 on Saturday to claim the Landmark Conference title. JC went 6-0 in the league this season, winning its third consecutive conference crown and gaining the league's first AQ to the big dance. The Eagles are paced by Kim Amrod and Paula Price, both of whom have 17 goals this season.

Admission to Wednesday's game is five dollars for adults, three dollars for students, senior citizens and children 12 and under. The cost for LC students will be covered by the College, allowing students to attend for free with a college ID.
