Roanoke Knocks LC Out of ODAC Volleyball Tourney in Semis

            ROANOKE, VA - The seventh seeded Roanoke College volleyball team upset #3 Lynchburg College 25-21, 22-25, 25-23, 25-12 Saturday in the semifinals of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championship Tournament, hosted by Hollins University.

            Freshman Brooke Moughon (Mathews, VA/Mathews) had 19 assists and seven digs, while Elena Kritter (Culpeper, VA/Rappahannock) contributed 11 kills, 22 digs and two service aces. Chelsea Jones (Richmond, VA/Monacan) posted nine kills and four blocks, Rebecca Loftis (Coventry, CT/Coventry) had seven kills and five blocks and Michelle Boucher (Chesapeake, VA/Nansemond Suffolk) had seven kills. Savannah Tinsley (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass) tallied 18 digs.

            The Hornets under Beth Ellinger finish the 2009 season 20-8, the second consecutive 20-win campaign.
